Family Ties

Almost nothing in Africa makes it on its own. What hunts, hunts together. What has young does not let go of them. And whatever drifts too far from the group is the most vulnerable of all.

Lion cubs are raised by several mothers at once. A young elephant never walks on the outside of the herd. Brothers sometimes stay together their whole lives, because together they manage what neither could alone.

None of it is meant romantically, it is simply how it works. But you do recognise something of ourselves in it.
