The Old Man
Kruger National Park, South Africa
Africa means dust and golden hours, caught in the frame.
Africa has two hours that beat all the others: the first light after sunrise and the last before the sun drops. In those hours the sun sits so low that it goes through everything. Through grass, through a coat, through dust still hanging in the air.
And there is always dust. From hooves, from wind, from a herd getting under way. During the day it is a nuisance. In the right light it is worth gold.
This collection is not about what there was to see. It is about how it looked at that moment.
