Guest in a podcast about Dakar
At the table for Thierry’s Dream, the Rallytrucks podcast, looking back at Dakar 2025. The brutal opening week, the crashes among the favourites in the car class, and the trouble with the FIA.
Last Monday I was with the Dutch Desert Wings Dakar Team, where they normally work on their truck a podcast was now being recorded. Rallytrucks.co.uk releases a monthly episode of Thierry’s Dream, in which they talk about everything related to off-road rallying.
I was asked by Robert Baarda because of my knowledge and experience in the Dakar and specifically about the cars. Robert hosts the show and does so with Peter van Embden. Marije van Ettekoven was a guest like me. Marije is a navigator and used to work for KTM. In short, a bin of rally experience at the table.
During the show, we looked back at Dakar 2025. It includes the spectacular and lousy first week, the many crashes of top drivers in the car standings, a very angry motorcyclist, hassles with the FIA and beautiful battles to the finish.
